Here are the brushes I use, including what I use them for! I hope you can find some brushes you like! Default brushes come with Clip Studio Paint, while other brushes are from the Clip Studio Assets Store (all free). Last updated: February 29, 2024
SKETCHING
- Design Pencil (default) – light blue draft sketches
- ARTIST21 BRUSH PACK – Pencil 3 for clean sketches
- 漫画用 – nice scratchy pen, good for rough drafts
Rendering
- Oil Paint Flat Brush (default) – my current favorite brush for rendering
- やわ肌ブラシ – one of the best soft mixing brushes
- 秋鮭筆 – very soft brush, does not blend. good for adding color
- Dense Watercolor (default) – softer than the Oil Paint brush and with a round shape, blends well but has opacity
- Soft Airbrush (default) – adding color/gradients
- Blur (default) – softening lines
Texture/effects
- joey’s stripe pen – nice to add some textured details!
- Artemus Chalk – good scratchy feeling. my favorite is chalkpen tilt
- Nuance Plus Brush – colorful brushes, look nice on add layers
- Real Prism brushes – rainbow light reflections
- Dust Brushes – sparkly effects

- Inma R. bucket – good fill tool
